Will Bum Marketing Still Perform?

By: Nancy Browne

Bum Marketing or costless methods to do internet marketing was dubbed that way by Travis Sago, or rather, his wife called it that way. The bum marketing method is nothing new. Bum Marketing has been used since the start of internet marketing. The bum marketer has used a ton of marketing techniques to get his merchandise in front of hungry visitors. Now that Google has updated it's search algorithm, naming it the infamous Panda update, is Bum marketing still as useful as it was?

Categorically yes, is the answer to that question. Not a lot has changed since the beginning. The only people which were effected by the new update have been those who have not presented value to their visitors. We all know that content is king on-line, and those of us who are a tad idle in supplying our reader with original quality content, have been disciplined.

So what has this got to do with bum marketing? The bum marketer has simply not been effected by this if he has been syndicating his content in an inventive way. Quality is what Google is after, and if the bum marketer sticks to those golden rules, then he could have no difficulty. The truth is I believe that the update has left an excellent hole available in the market as individuals are abandoning their efforts to find a "better" technique.

The answer to the current difficulty isn't difficult. Let's take article marketing as an example. The strategy up to now was to get as many articles published as doable. Spin them with some cheap spinner, and blast them out to as many directories as possible. With no regard really for page rank, or quality of the directories. I know, I used to try this myself. Quantity was the name of the game and the more back links the better. This has changed somewhat nowadays and the tactic just isn't as clear-cut as it used to be. Google has caught on to this, and now have penalized the evil directories and your inbound links are worthless.

What is the solution to the matter? In my opinion, and there are many of them out there, the bum marketer has to think of quality instead of quantity. If you are going to spin your article, and now for the large clich?, apply your brain! As for the article directories, I was checking out E-zine articles page rank the other day, and it is not bad. What I'm attempting to say is choose directories that are quality oriented. A back link from a top quality directory is going to be worth more. Seek to branch out your syndication to simply the very best. This way you will not only get quality back-links, but class drip traffic as well.
