Every single internet business is a brand, whether a marketer wants it or not. The brand includes all the information and values, which the prospects have about the internet business, whether they are wrong or right ones.

The internet business brand includes everything a person has experienced, seen, heard or guesssed about the brand. Many people has the brand image even if they have never used the product. These poeple can be important opinion makers and can have big influences on the brand choices. However, the most important thing is, how the business around the brand goes. A real life determines the brand image.

1. You Cannot Build The Brand.

Many marketers think, that they can build the brand image. That they could somehow order, how others would think about the brand. That is not true. Of course the marketing has influences on the brand, but the message receivers build the brand images by themselves.

What the marketer can do, is to try to direct the direction, where the brand image is moving. This happens with the promotions and ad campaigns. Or by changing the product of the product portfolio. A marketer picks some benefit of the brand at the time and lifts it to the main role.

2. The Brand Is In A Constant Comparison.

Yes, the internet surroundings means, that the surfers compare the brand with many other brands, not only from the same niche, but from the many other niches. This sets heavy requirements to the brand and it must be ready to change if necessary.

3. A Bad Brand Is Not Doomed To Be Bad.

Yes, that is true. Let us take one example from the car business. A brand called Skoda had an image of an eastern car, before Volkswagen bought minority from the company and started to upgrade the quality. Soon the brand was seen as a respected family car brand. So once again, the real appearance of the brand determines how the market will evaluate it, not the history alone.

4. The Brand Has To Follow Time.

If the brand has been a sexy one years back, but the circumstances have changed, it is a time for it to change. The old fashioned look is almost the worst, which can happen to the brand name.

5. What Makes The Brand To Fly?

That is, what happens in the real business, which some brand name represents. It can be whatever, but the key thing is, that the prospects evaluate the appearance so much, that they start to favour it more. Or it is able to get new users or prospects so much, that the sales will increase.

It is important to understand, that the brand image is something, which comes as a result of the everyday work, which is done for the brand. A working and long term business plan is in the key role. An entrepreneur must have an idea in his head, what, to whom and why he is running the business. The marketing style creates the image, which then draws certain prospects to the site. However, the brand image has a huge impact to the results.
