Welcome to Your Next Vacation

By: Art Gib

Are you planning a relaxing getaway to Cape Cod? Tourism is a huge part of Cape Cod's economy as they are a destination for family and friends to vacation to during the summer months. There are many businesses that are targeted specifically as tourist attractions for those eager visitors every summer. In fact, the tourist season is getting longer and more and more visitors are travelling to this place during the spring and fall. If you have never been here, or even considered it as a place to visit, you might want to think again.

Provincetown is at the very tip of the area. It is known for its whale watching fleets that patrol the waters. Many of these fleets will guarantee a whale sighting to its visitors, and one of them is even federally certified to rescue whales. If you decide to go on a whale watching trip, you might expect to see humpback whales, fin whales, minke whales, and possibly even the critically endangered North Atlantic Right whale.

Another attraction is the renowned fishing. Some of the most common fish include striped bass, bluefish, bluefin tuna, false albacore, bonito, tautog, flounder, and fluke. The bays, harbors, and shoals also provide a habitat for game species, and during the late summer when the water is warmer at the southern tip, you can even snag some mahi-mahi and marlin. Nearly every harbor has chartered sports fishing boats that will take you out and let you fish in the waters of Cape Cod.

It is also a destination for beach goers. With over 500 miles of beach, at least 60 public beaches, and scenic paths along the sand and water, it can also be your vacation to bask in the rays of the sun.

If you are in to music, there is an annual music festival called the Naukabout Music Festival held at the Barnstable County Fair Grounds. The festival takes place in the first weekend in August and features local, regional and national musicians, as well as food, art, and family entertainment.

Vacations here have something to offer everyone. Beautiful scenery, fresh seafood, beaches, hiking, spas, shopping, fishing, and so much more. If you are doubtful, just Google Cape Cod tourist attractions and see all the options that there are. If you are already convinced that this is for you, Google Cape Cod Accommodations to find a great place to stay that fits your needs. There is a little something for everyone.
