Likewise, ingrained patterns of what is acceptable standards for success in a society start to fade out of fashion when people start to discover that these patterns don’ take them where they were told they would. The pattern our parents had which asserted that one goes to school, then off to university, find employment with a corporation and then retire at 65 with a retirement program and a gift watch from the company was a moral code, an expectancy, a blueprint which went by the wayside as corporations went bankrupt, as colleges failed to properly educate to the degree that many graduates are functionally illiterate.
