Medical Coder
This position handles the insurance billing that doctors rely on to get paid. While this may seem like a trivial position at first glance, it is actually quite important. The medical coder needs to know what established procedures to choose, so that the patients' visit can be accurately billed. If a "code" is chosen that does not fit the work that was done, the insurance company will not pay. What makes the position a top medical job, is that a new standard in codes will be adopted from Europe in the coming year. Many more codes will be available to choose from, making the job more complex. This means that it may accelerate the retiring process for some, and bolster the demand. Their compensation will be ball parked up to 70k a year.

This occupation is one that seems to show up on every list for in demand jobs, and for good reason. The demand for registered nurses is always going up and will not be going down anytime soon. This particular position affords you the ability to work in a variety of environments with patients that you will care for. You will have the ability to work in just about any location you wish, providing a great luxury amongst other professions. In addition, you will find that you have more bartering strength in your salary since the demand is so high (not like you need it though, they make a great salary).

Dental Assistant
The dental assistant is a valuable asset to any dental office whether it is private or hospital practice. This position makes you the dentists' wing man (or wing women?) when it comes to running smooth and efficiently. You can be working chair side, assisting the dentist with each patient. You will more than likely clean and prep the room that the work is done in, so the doctor can efficiently move from patient to patient with no down time. In addition to these tasks, you may assist in the office work that the front end deals with. They are an invaluable asset to the dentist and the demand for them is growing strong. Salary wise, a dental assistant can make 18-20 dollars an hour if they become certified. A decent income for a rather quick certification!
