Throttle Body Alignment

By: andyauto

This procedure shows how to calibrate the Throttle body to be executed on many Audi and VW cars. This procedure brings the throttle body at different stages (idle, part load, full throttle) to the corresponding positions to re-learn. In some cars the engine is not running (or not) without the throttle body is learned after one (or several) of the following is done:
* The battery is disconnected and reconnected,
* The ECU has been out and reinstalled,
* The Throttle body was cleaned out and back and has been installed,
* Throttle has been out and reinstalled.
The learning of the throttle body can perform at "Drive-By-Wire" (DBW or E-Gas) cars and cars with a classic (Bowden) mechanical cable, if there's NO Idle Stabilization Valve (ISV) is present. If the ISV is present there is no motorized control of the throttle. VW / Audi have motorized 1996-99 with a mechanical throttle cable and VW / Audi have DBW 2000 and newer. Of course there are exceptions and please note: TDI does not have Throttle body.
Before you learn the the throttle body should begin with a few conditions:
* The teaching of values the ECU must be reset, some ECU's will that by going to Adaptiewaarden and channel 00 to set the baseline, with other ECUs need to erase the error codes.
* There should be no error codes present in the Engine Controller
* The voltage of the battery must be at least 11.5 volts are
* The accelerator must be in the "idle" are (ie: stay away from the accelerator),
* The throttle body is not dirty,
* The coolant temperature must be between 5 and 95 ° C.
