A life free of the material things can certainly have merit. But there is a difference between material greed and seeking financial comfort for you and your family. You must also discover the path to success that makes the most sense to you.

Prosperity and Materialism are not Identical Concepts

Before you can begin following the path to prosperity without guilt and free from fear, you have to first understand that there is a difference between prosperity and gluttony. As with all things, the difference lies in both your actions and your motivations.

Before you read another self-help book on becoming financially secure, before you pray for the lottery to go your way for once, and before you spend another dime on the next sure-fire business opportunity, stop. Ask the question â€œWhat am I doing this for?â€

The answers you get might surprise you. Most people don't seek prosperity because they want to sit around and let dust gather beneath their feet. Being rich to be rich isn't their primary motivation. For most people, the drive to achieve financial prosperity is rooted in the very genuine desire to remove the financial stresses from their lives.

When you have money worries, there is no way you can relax and enjoy your family. You will fight with your spouse and you will have to forgo spending time with friends at a night out because you can't afford the gas, the tickets or the dinner. You don't have the resources to give back to your community and share with your favorite charity as you would like to do.

If Relieving Monetary Stress is your Goal, you have Opportunities at your Disposal

There is a path to success out there waiting for you. And it probably doesn't involve winning the lottery. Every man, woman and child has a lifetime of happiness waiting for them if they know where to look.

There will always be difficult choices in life that have to be made. Optimists see a glass half full of water; pessimists see the same glass as half-empty. The truth of the matter is there is a glass with water in it. That glass is rarely overflowing with water or completely empty. That would make the whole thing to easy. Your only job, then, is to decide how to perceive that glass and follow your instincts.

Call it kismet, call it the Force, call it your inner substance with keys to the cosmos. Whatever you call it, your beliefs will lead you where you want to go. The only thing standing between you and success is you.
