The Value of Seiko SNA411

By: Steve Jason

The quality of Seiko SNA411 is excellent, and the value of this Seiko SNA411 makes it an incredible purchase. The first thing I observed after I opened the field was the amazing attention to element Seiko executed within the design.
The bracelet of Seiko SNA411measures just over 21mm persistently all the best way round (no tapering), is strong stainless-steel, and has strong finish links. The bracelet was erroneously reported by some fellow reviewers as being a 3-link band (two brushed hyperlinks on the surface and one polished link within the center with a vertical crease). In sizing the bracelet and moving the links, I rapidly learned that it's really a 4-hyperlink bracelet since the polished heart is actually made up of TWO links facet by facet, every with a brushed hyperlink on both finish (brushed link +polished hyperlink+ polished hyperlink+ brushed link...per hyperlink phase).
Diameter of case/bezel is listed as 42mm (w/o the crown), however it seems to be nearer to 40mm.
The dial is protected by a domed Hardlex mineral crystal that does a powerful job magnifying the fantastic writing of the EB6 rule, Telemeter, and Tachometer, and all other information including he date on the face/dial.
The domed crystal also does a wonderful job reflecting a whole lot of LIGHT and shimmer in the direction of onlookers, so it tends to get a variety of WOW responses.
The bezel is non-ratcheting and bidirectional, has a highly polished coined edge, and could be very stable and clean in its movement.
The weight and steadiness is simply right. It's slightly lighter than the Seiko "Monster" divers, about the same weight as my Omega 40mm (heavier than a Chase Durer Pilot Commander Alarm chronograph).
The alarm (positioned at the 6 o'clock position) can be utilized as a GMT to trace a secondary time zone. It has its personal totally impartial minute and hour palms, so that is fairly nice.
The chronograph second hand (the BIG second hand) and chronograph hour hand (in the small sub-dial nearest to the 12 o'clock place) are in bright yellow. All different hands are in chrome steel with or without lumabrite (luminescent paint for glowing at nighttime). The chronograph sub-dials at 12 and 9 o'clock are outlined in white paint, but the alarm sub-dial a 6 o'clock is nicely outlined with a stainless-steel circle/ring.
The crown and pushers are all screw down and the threads are well engineered. This allows not only for the true 200 meter depth water resistance score, but additionally retains mud and moisture out of the watch. Mud and moisture are the largest enemies of any watch, whatever the price-point.
ALL the chronograph fingers and sub-dials can be manually reset to "zero" or manually aligned with the hatch marks on the dial or sub-dials using the pushers, if ever needed. I'll say that my Seiko SNA411 arrived with all the arms PERFECTLY aligned with the markers, so no adjustment is yet necessary.
The Seiko SNA411 also came with several booklets with directions that were very helpful, detailing the right way to set the watch and use the slide rule.
This Seiko SNA411 is a dressy watch. The image actually doesn't do it justice
