The Chicago School Expands its Psychology Masters Program to Washington DC

The nation's largest nonprofit psychology and behavioral sciences school expanded its psychology masters program to the nation's capital. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology continues to enlarge its higher learning centers to provide more areas of the country with valuable mental health services.

The recent expansion came in an effort to better serve local communities on the East Coast and offer treatment options to those who otherwise would not have been able to obtain help. The Washington D.C. campus opening is a major step for the Chicago School, and is a continuation of the facility's dedication to diversity, innovation, and community service. By offering several different degree programs, the school hopes to prepare a new generation of psychologists to serve the city, the nation, and even the world.

The Chicago School of Psychology Washington D.C. based campus will offer the following degree programs to start:

M.A. in Forensic Psychology: This program teaches students how to properly perform patient assessments, design treatment plans, and arrange interventions. This allows graduates to work in many different areas such as the legal world, public service, throughout the community, as well as in research. Forensic psychologists can also readily find work in jails and prisons, child welfare organizations, mental health centers, government agencies, private practices, state run mental facilities, juvenile facilities, and family courts.

M.A. in Counseling Psychology: An exclusive program that teaches students using a strong base of the principles of clinical psychology, while giving them the opportunity to learn therapeutic skills, diagnostic skills, and consultative skills. This allows graduates of the program to work in a range of settings such as community agencies, colleges and universities, public or private schools, mental health facilities, hospitals, and even in private practices.

Psy. D. in Clinical Psychology: This program allows students to choose various concentrations such as General Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, and International/Multicultural Psychology. Graduates are given a unique opportunity to learn research skills, practice clinical psychology techniques, and learn precise theories. This allows for various job opportunities such as practitioners or administrators in clinical and/or educational operations.

Evening, late afternoon, and online course options are currently available.
