If you are a self-starter like me, who tends to do everything by himself, I have some bad news for you. Although you are probably working very hard, you are not working smart. Running around like a headless chicken, working hard by doing everything yourself thinking that you'll save money is a recipe for disaster. It is totally, unscalable.

Businesses tends to grow big if it is scalable. Operations should be easily scaled and that ain't going to happen if its just you you and you.

If you have a company structure like this, sad to say, you won't get anywhere.

It is important to start delegating and hiring people to do some of these stuff for you. Even if you have a virtual business, things such as daily webmaster tasks, content creation, social media optimization, search engine optimization, order fullfilment, those are tasks that can be outsourced.

Some people perhaps think its very costly to hire somebody to do this. Apprarently, it's not. There are ways to do this and it might just cost you a few hundred bucks a month. Yes, that's right, not thousands of dollars for salaries, just a couple of hundred will do.

So how in the world can you do this? It's called outsourcing. There are certain countries where the dollar goes a long way. Like in the Philippines. At USD1:PHP42 exchange rate, and with a country who uses English as their 2nd language, it's not hard at all to find a good virtual worker who can help you with some of your tasks.

I'll tell you why the Philippines is the best place to outsource when it comes to internet related tasks. It is true that China is #1 in outsourcing, but this is because western countries like the US are using China to manufacture their goods. You don't need to speak Chinese, or them speak English. They just have to be good at manufacturing. However, if it involves speaking to them, chatting to them via skype and discussing things you want to be done for your business, then the Philippines is the way to go.

In the Philippines, the mode of instruction in schools are in English which is why, any Filipino you come across in the internet, knows how to read,speak, write in English. There are varying degrees of fluncy but the Philippines, in my opinion, has the best compared to other countries.

In a call center setting, you would probably know if the customer support agent you are talking to is from India due to the accent, however if it's from the Philippines, a lot of times, you won't know. You will think it's somebody right there in the US speaking to you. That's how good they are.

Now let's talk about training. If you need to train a virtual worker, all you need is to send them a video with you or somebody doing it and explaining the steps. That's it. They'll get it and do it the way you taught it.

Just imagine the benefits of having a virtual assistant. You can just assign all those boring, or non-critical tasks and leave you with the most important aspects of your business like sales or marketing, or creating strategies and creating business partnerships.

Here's one activity you can do over the next 2 weeks. Write down all the things you do. Yes, all, even if its just reading email. Then after 2 weeks, evaluate which tasks can be delegated to a virtual worker and which ones are those that only you can do. Chances are, you will see a lot of
tasks that can be offloaded to your own virtual assistant.

I've talked to a lot of people who have hired virtual assistants and they all say something positive about it like they have more time, they have less stress, and they doubled their income because they are more focused at the important stuff.

So think about VAs as a good strategy to increase your productivity. You'll be amazed on how much time you can free up.
