Make A Good Impression With Perfume

By: Bill Weston

First impression count for a lot, but often what people neglect to properly prepare is their aroma - surely as important as any visual or verbal impression you can make. Fragrance can say a lot about someone, in the same way that your personality is expressed through the clothes that you wear, what you say and how you say it. Some people think that aroma is unimportant, but it in fact can leave a lasting impression on somebody. When people remember you it won't simply be your appearance they remember - it will also be your aroma, accent and what you say.

There are all sorts of things which speak volumes about your personality. The clothes you wear represent your taste and personality, while your walk and body language is a good indicator of confidence or self-esteem. Somebody who stands tall and walks with a swagger is seen as confident, while someone who walks quickly or is hunched over is often seen as less confident. Speaking voices will also have a big impact on how you are received, as clear, loud voices tend to come from strong, confident individuals. When it comes to making a good impression, it's important to consider more than simply your appearance.

Choosing the perfume to represent you and your personality can be difficult; how do the different elements of fragrances embody personality traits? If you go to a perfume counter and try many different perfumes then before long you will not know what you are buying. As you spray them on your wrists, onto sample cards or into the air, the scents will merge and can become indistinguishable. Taking the time to explore more unusual fragrances and asking people what they wear could help you to find a fragrance which accurately represents you.

So how would you use perfume to communicate your identity? Confident, fashion-loving females tend to wear strong, aromatic fragrances. Less confident and perhaps quiet ladies might prefer less strong fragrances perhaps in an oriental style. These aromas linger for longer, and can also compliment other floral notes. Whatever fragrance you decide to wear, ensure that it represents your personality in the best way. People can make judgements on you based on aroma as well as on appearance and what you say. You don't need to spend a fortune to find a nice fragrance, but try to find something which isn't worn by many other people. This way your fragrance will help you to stand out from the crowd at that job interview, sales pitch or business meeting.
