Lisa Lampanelli Tickets - The 'Queen of Mean' Shows Her Soft Side

By:

Lisa Lampanelli earned a spot among the male-dominated comedy world by being as crude and rude as the guys, but the "Queen of Mean" has been showing her softer side now that Long Island-based bar owner Jimmy Cannizzaro has made an honest woman of her. Lampanelli chatted about her second wedding-she married a fellow comedian in 1991 but the marriage was short-lived-to Watermark website, saying, "It was fantastic. It was very traditional, but not boring and stuffy ... It was in Tiffany blue, because you know what? That's the color of rich people."

Lampanelli's husband may not be a comedian, but New York Magazine reports that he does have some comedic chops. According to the New York Times' wedding announcement, Cannizzaro emailed Lampanelli his head shot with a note reading, "I think you can use a big Italian in your life." Lampanelli took her now-husband's word for it, recently telling Watermark website, "I think the problem is now I feel I can take even more liberties with the audience. The minute I first started dating Jimmy I had a built-in bodyguard-now I have someone with a vested interest in my well-being and my money."

It may be surprising that Lisa Lampanelli settled down with a white Italian guy, as her escapades dating black men has been a staple in her stand-up act for years. That bit might change, but don't expect Lampanelli, 49, to give up her signature raunchiness. Shock jock and comedian Howard Stern did call her "a true original and a brilliant comedy mind who'll steal the show every time," after all.

Lampanelli scored her big break back in 2002, when she was the lone female comedian invited to Comedy Central's roast of Chevy Chase. Lampanelli then appeared on BET's Comic View and Comedy Central roasts for Pamela Anderson and William Shatner. An appearance on Comedy Central's "Last Laugh 2005" followed, as did Lampanelli's very own one-hour comedy special, called "Take It Like a Man," which was released in CD and DVD format. Lampanelli scored spots on specials on VH1, MTV and CMT, and her second one-hour special, "Dirty Girl," aired in 2007. The special was released in DVD and CD format and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album.

In 2009, Lampanelli starred in her first-ever one-hour HBO comedy special, "Long Live the Queen," and also released her first book, Chocolate, Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks. Publisher HarperCollins describes the book as a "jaw-droppingly hilarious, politically incorrect memoir on everything from relationships, food and fat to why once you go black, you never go back." Well, she might just be taking back that last claim!

The newlywed is currently on tour and fans can get Lisa Lampanelli tickets to see her in cities like Melbourne, Fla.; Portland, Ore.; San Francisco, Calif.; Los Angeles, Calif.; Rochester, N.Y.; Dayton, Ohio; Joliet, Ill.; Mashantucket, Conn.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Toronto, ON; Westbury, N.Y.; Atlanta, Ga.; Houston, Texas; Richmond, BC; Reading, Pa.; Atlantic City, N.J. and more through March 2011.
