The horizontal line across your waist is just going to make you look shorter - even more so if you are wearing your pants high on your waist. Another thing to avoid is patterns such as polka dots or plaid. That usually just does not work out well if you want to accentuate your height and make yourself look taller. On the other hand, if you are a man then you want to wear a business suit that is of one, preferably darker, color. Pinstripes are probably the most favorable pattern that makes you look taller. This may be more applicable to women.

It all boils down to choosing clothing that fits you in such a way that your limbs and torso seem long and slim. This is the number one fashion advice that I can give you and it will work great. You will have to invest some time in figuring out what works for you and what does not. Make it a fun experience by bringing a friend along and you'll have your new outfits ready fast.

Obviously, your shoes can make you look much taller, as well. Women can wear higher heels and men can add height enhancing insoles. Both are very legitimate techniques and you can't do much wrong here. Honestly, when you are wearing any type of sneaker or normal shoe, I would just add height enhancing insoles. It's going to make you taller and boost your self-esteem, consequently having an even greater impact on your height appearance. (Don't underestimate the power of your attitude and self- esteem - more about that later.) Consider wearing clogs, boots or tennis shoes, as well. They create the illusion of being taller because they make your feet look bigger.

The next advice is a commonly overlooked one. You could almost call it a little secret: It's your hair. Maybe you have done this unconsciously, but being aware of your hair's impact on your height appearance unfolds a whole bunch of exciting ways to make yourself appear taller. Here's one thing to consider for women: When you wear your hair long, you end up blurring the space between your ears and shoulders. This in turn makes your neck look shorter.

Lastly, your posture and attitude are going to have a great impact on your height. Whereas your attitude will make you seem taller, your posture can make you be taller. If you want to figure out how to look taller, posture and attitude are an unbeatable combination that you can implement in your daily life starting today. When you sit, keep your back straight and your shoulders back. This will make your body taller and it is also a great thing for your bones and muscles, especially in your back.

In terms of attitude, I like to use the saying "Fake it until you make it". I know it's hard to develop the right attitude where you think of yourself as tall and impressive. But even if you just acted like you were taller, you will automatically be perceived as being taller. In the beginning, you might not be able to keep up this attitude for a long period of time. That's o.k., as long as you do it every day. You might start out by doing it once or twice a day. Trust me, after a while you'll see that you start to constantly think of yourself as tall. This will do amazing things to your attitude.Inevitably, you will appear taller to the people around you because they will respond to your positive attitude you have of yourself.
