How SEO Can Draw Home Based Online Business To Success

The home based online business must use SEO in the way, that the landing page will rank on the first page or even on the first place of the result page of a desired keyword. We marketers know, how Google algorithms work, at least the most of it. The owner of every home based online business can optimize his page so, that it will reach at least the first page.

1. How To Build And Use The Keyword Families?

The keywords are very important for the optimization, because the search engine needs them for the page rankings and the readers to pick the related writings. I prefer the long tail keywords, because they contain several keywords each. This makes the usage very effective and the page can reach the result pages of many keywords.

First you have to pick a core keyword, usually two word term. Then you submit this term into the keyword tool and pick about ten search terms, which all containg from two to five words and every includes the core keyword. This is your family. When you use these terms again and again, your page will get high rankings.

You will get related and interested visitors, when your keywords describe the content or promise of your landing page. The better they will do that, the better conversion rates you will get.

2. Where To Put The Links?

Google appreciates links from the related and high page rank sites. The link must include the search term, because only then Google knows the theme and can raise the ranking on the right result page.

So not all links are equal. This spring Google updated its algorithms and favours links from the variety of site types, especially from the social sites. If you have built links only from the article directories, you better build links from Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter, plus from other, high page rank social sites.

3. SEO Is A Long Term Project.

To reach high rankings with SEO requires a lot of linking work and a long time. Google updates the rankings with the intervals of a few months. But when you use the long tail keywords regularly, these keywords will work ,because there are so many alternatives.

4. The Rankings Work Residually.

When a page has got a high ranking, it will last quite a long time without support. But it is wise to build more links regularly, before the page starts to drop, because then it requires a lot of time to pull it back to the high ranking. The search engine marketing with SEO is a residual marketing and thus ideal for a one man company. Do it once and it will generate results during a long period of times.

When you will start SEO, note that it will take some weeks before the results start to come. If you use articles to build links, the submissions to the directories can bring visitors almost immediately, the same with the social sites. But the rankings, which are the real powerhouses, work after some quiet period.
