Event Venues are Difficult to find

By: Art Gib

Do you have an important event coming up? Maybe a wedding, a company party, the grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, a big birthday, an annual gala, a seminar, board meeting, or even a Bar Mitzvah? These events can be stressful especially if the burden is on you. Here are a couple of things to look for when looking for the perfect venue.

In no particular order; food, technology, indoor/outdoor reception areas, on-site catering, multi-media presentations, the right size facility to fit your event, location.
People remember views, atmosphere, ambiance, grandeur and the general feel of the event. First impressions can last the evening. Make your event venue in NYC is one to be remembered. Look for vaulted ceilings, tasteful decor, carpet to cut down on the noise. An onsite caterer is heaven sent. If you have to scrounge up linens, chairs, food, dishes any event you are in charge of is a nightmare. Find a venue that has these onsite. You be in charge of decision making not actual cooking and chair set up.

Multi-media presentation. Have you ever been to an event like a wedding luncheon where there wasn't an adequate sound system? It is awful to be sitting in the back unable to hear a thing. Make sure if you are using visuals, they can be clearly seen by all attending, especially if you are doing a business presentation. Presentation is often times more important that the actual information. Make it impressive, easily seen and heard by all.

The right size facility is important. If the room is too big for your crowd, there is a feeling that half the guest didn't show up. If it is too small, there is a claustrophobic feel and everyone just wants out. You don't want it too loud or too quiet. Soft, easy music gives the room a more comfortable feel. In addition, too quiet and guest feel self conscience, too loud and you have yell to be heard.

Try to make the location as convenient as possible by train, car or other transportation. Give clear instruction for parking and transportation options. Food. Enough can't be said about the importance of good food. You don't have to have over kill, just tasty, delicious, impressive presentation of food. Fine dining or barbeque sandwiches, it depends on the occasion. Finger food or cavier, make sure it taste good and the presentation is beautiful.

Enjoy your event. Let the event venue in NYC do the work. You worry about the guest and making sure everyone is having a great time. Choosing the right venue makes that job much easier.
