Dude, where is my car?

By: Adam Wolfe

Honestly, parking somebody else’s car used to be one of the things I avoided the most. It didn’t matter if it was for a buddy, my twin borther, or even my wifey; the idea of parking another person’s car was simply unappealing to me. To me, it’s just like putting clothes on them.
Then I receive a call--it’s my supervisor—the auto parts guy. “Would you like to be a valet attendant for a day?” I’m speechless. Tired from screening offensive issues surrounding our place, I thought I deserved a silence. Then here I was being asked to take the role of a valet attendant—inclusive with the required suit. Please give me a break. I pray he had asked me to be a massage parlor attendant or even a macho dancer instead. But obviously, the assignment had to be motoring-related.
Despite my denial, my supervisor sales-talk experience—just the kind he uses on hot babes—won me over.
Here’s a surprise: Even after conforming to do it, I felt so fretful about the whole thing that I actually attempted to jiggle my way out of the assignment. I did it by holding the first arranged pictorial assembly. Unethical? Maybe, but I was willing to take whatever they had to say as long I could escaped myself from this potentially shameful situation.
I was confident that my supervisor would just be so upset that he’d eventually just find someone else to accomplish the assignment. I planned to just fade away if he didn’t bring up the matter again. But with the kind of persistence that one could only start after a lifetime of getting downed by the ladies, my supervisor only rescheduled the shoot.
After lunch we came at the lodge, the organizer was there to join us. Around the lodge, everything is ordinary.
The lodge executives were polite and quick. Having a pleasing quality, I realized, is a must for a lodge valet parking boys. The OIC swiftly instructed me about the ABCs of being a valet attendant. It sounds simple at first, but after knowing about the possible consequences of loppiness, this task could truly send me to prison.
