Do Not Fear SATs Just Prepare For Them.

Since the beginning of exams, students have feared the worst. Even though they are prepared, they will still have that fear or anxiety when results are out. These fears can give birth to expectations. This is because parents and close ones start demanding a lot. One would think that parents are in constant competition. Your parent may want you to succeed more than his friend’s child. This usually takes your mind off the main goal, and you start competing also. This will lead to disaster. However, the new age has proven that examinations or education is not really the key to success. There have come about people that have succeeded in the arts arena. These areas could be music, sports or athletics. As a matter of fact, these people earn more than the ones with PHDs and Masters Degrees. Anyways, exams should not breed fear in you. With a little preparation, all will be well in your exams. This fear is sometimes in the SAT examinations.

The most important thing to remember about the SAT vocabulary examination is that it is not only the vocabulary that is tested but also the context. In more familiar terms, you do not just need to know the meaning of the words but also how they are used. There is a verbal section in the SAT, and so it is necessary to learn how to use the word verbally. In short, it all comes down to you not only having the vocabulary but also putting it into your language. It is not as easy as you think to incorporate words into your language. A wide reading is required, and if you can concentrate on books that are most likely to have words that can be tested in the SAT, the better. You can make your reading more efficient in relating to the SAT exams. There are very many books that their sole purpose is to prepare you for the SATs. For example, there are organizations like Kaplan that provide books that help in building your vocabulary. The words in books provided by Kaplan are likely to pop up in an SAT test in bold. The novels written by Kaplan have the story at the right-hand side of each page and the meaning and the words of the SAT tests are on the left-hand side. This makes it quite easy to learn the words. This is because, they give you the context plus the meaning and the words are texted in bold. If there is any new word, just look at the left side. As you can see, there is no use fearing. Fear only makes you worry. When you worry, you are less productive than usual. Fear makes you weak and lazy. You start seeing work as if it is a burden whereas the real thing is that it is actually gainful to work. There is nothing as profitable as work because if you do not work, you should not expect to make any profit. A mafia boss in some movie once said, “do not fear, just prepare.”
