Creative Thinking Is A Learned Behavior

By: June McHardy

Many people seem to have the mistaken belief that only a chosen few are able to unlock a steady avalanche of creative skill. That is certainly not true. In fact, creativity is similar to a muscle that needs to be trained in order to repeatedly give out great results. If you don't practice working with creative thinking, this talent will very much degenerate. But keep making use of it and it will surprise you and soon blossom.
That being said, how do you apply your creative thinking? Well, the first step is that you must become like a blotter. Put simply you should absorb as much proficiency and mastery as you can manage. Read everything available and keep your mind open to the limitless potentialities of the universe. The more you know, the more you'll be impatient to learn, and the more your faculty of wonder will be used. Prepare to be amazed over the little surprises that add a bit of fun into your life.
Target a creative pastime everyday. Yes, it's a commitment. Even writing is a creative activity. Don't let anything hinder you. So why don't you try it out? Practice doodling for a minute or two each day. Uncover your photographic equipment and start snapping photos like crazy. Keep a record and be sure to write in it religiously.
Another cool idea is to start writing. ANYTHING! Describe your last vacation or what you caught sight of on your way to the store. Next thing you know, you'll have created a little variety of creative works, and you'll be amazed at the growth you've undertaken after gathering together all those works of art. Hey, you might really start liking those creative exercises you do everyday. Before you know it those things will end up being a part of you and you'll be captivated with these creative practices.
Try something cutting edge everyday and let your new experience broaden your point of view. Explore a new district in your town local region. Spend an afternoon in a sanctuary to which you've never been before. Talk to someone on the subway. Pay attention to the people around you. As you force yourself out of your comfort zone ever more each day, your sense of adventure develops and so does your zest for life.
Reflect for a moment!. When did you last have an adventure? If it's been a while, you've been missing out on an entire world of experience that could've added to your evolution - psychologically, mentally, physically, or spiritually.
Why not try bungee jumping today? Not only will you find out how, but you will also have heaps of stories to write about, making it possible for you to use your storytelling skills and making you a more interesting person. Creativity is quite simply breaking down restrictions
One of the most effective creative problem-solving strategies is brainstorming. It's usually done by a group, but can also easily be done by one. The course of action is very simple and relaxed. The idea is to formulate off the wall and cockeyed potential resolutions to your problem and write down every one. Negative feedback, judgement and evaluation are not introduced at this stage because we cannot concurrently be creative and critical. In the process, mainstream thinking is put aside and creative thinking takes center stage. Many over the top ideas have resulted in practical solutions.
So you must start thinking beyond your limitations. Once you follow these steps, you'll shortly be living a life full of remarkable adventures. Unleashing your creative thinking will result in a new appetite for living life to the fullest.
