Safety

There are three key aspects to consider with auto mat safety:
1. Fit
2. Backing
3. Retention System

Fit

A well-fitting mat not only adds to the aesthetic of the car's interior, but prevents the mat from moving: a very important thing for safety. A loose mat will move around and could interfere with the driver's controls. Poorly fitted mats could push on the brakes or accelerator, making for a very dangerous situation.

Backing

Backing is as important as Fit when it comes to keeping the auto mat in place. A backing has to be made of a material that is compatible with the flooring in your car. For example, a needle-punch backing is not going to be very effective at keeping the mat in place on a metal or hard/short carpet.

Many universal floor mats don't make use of a universally appropriate backing. It's important to have a custom backing that is made for your car's specific flooring.
Retention System

Even the best fit, perfectly backed auto mat can still move without a good retention system. Standard retention systems most commonly consist of grommets. While these do the job, the grommets and mat must be actively engaged, allowing room for human error.
Passive retention systems remove the human element, ensuring as little as possible room for possibly dangerous situations, and are the best bet for custom auto mats.

Personal Style

Custom auto mats allow you to choose the pattern or design that appears on your mat. This lets you be creative and express yourself in your car. Having a custom design on your auto mats may even contribute to driver safety, as the ability to express yourself can aid in staying calm, especially on the road. Road rage or distracting thoughts could be eliminated by a custom auto mat. This will intern make you and others a lot safer on the road.

Stain and Spill
