A Quick Guide to Industrial Trailers

By: HeavyDutyIndustrialTrailers

If you are in a kind of business that requires material storing and transportation in large containers and steel boxes, you are probably no stranger to industrial trailers. Available in a wide range of strengths and sizes, these specialised transportation devices are indispensable in most industries that have to deal with large container boxes on a regular basis.
The choice of the right kind of industrial trailers depends on the specific requirements of the industry that you are in. However, if you are looking for powerful and durable trailers, it is advisable to opt for a special category of trailers known as heavy duty industrial trailers. With extra fortification and special features that make them more powerful, these trailers are the perfect means of transporting heavy goods safely and securely.
A popular variant among these is the trailer with the all wheel pivot post steering facility. It features excellent tracking capabilities and offers good stability. With its 45° steering angle and small turning radius, it is very easy to steer these trailers. Some of the other useful features that they carry include a low deck height for ease of loading and unloading, detachable drawbar that allows for towing from either end and oscillating axles for even load distribution on uneven surfaces.
For extra power and better control, you can consider using trailers that feature double Ackerman steering. These trailers, while retaining almost all the advantages of the all wheel pivot post steering type, is distinguished by the presence of all wheel double Ackerman steering. All its moving parts carry sintered bronze sleeve bearings with grease nipple and these trailers come with a heavy duty welded steel section frame with chamfered corners.
Other features on the double Ackerman steering trailer include axle beams made from steel flats with solid steel stub axles and generously sized pivot pins, additional thrust bearings, rims in fracture resistant steel construction with steel reinforced solid rubber elastic tyres and other special features.
You may also consider another variant of industrial trailers known as the single axle turning steering type. They provide a very good degree of maneuverability and are extremely robust, requiring minimal maintenance. They cost less than other kinds of trailers and are well-suited for a wide range of purposes.
